The Blue Mansion is a quirky murder mystery about a wealthy Asian tycoon who dies suddenly under mysterious circumstances. He returns as a ghost to try to uncover the secret of his death with the help of his family and the police.

A local production by Glenn Goei. I love the set. He makes good use of contrast and lights which makes the set look exceptionally classic. Although I was somewhat disappointed in the thin plot, I must say it's still worth watching. I cringed at the post editing and censorship. It was bad. I also question the relevance of Emma's nudity but heck, I certainly ain't complaining.

The film tells a story of the relationship between a woman, Summer (Deschanel), who doesn't believe in true love and a man, Tom (Gordon-Levitt), described as a hopeless romantic, who falls in love with her. When Tom is blindsided after his girlfriend Summer dumps him, he shifts back and forth through various periods of their 500 days 'together' to try to figure out where things went wrong. His reflections ultimately lead him to finally rediscover his true passions in life. - Adapted from Yahoo

4 stars for a very different presentation. It's still very much a romantic comedy but it's refreshing and very entertaining.

In Iraq, an elite U.S. Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit is forced to play a dangerous game of cat and mouse in the chaos of war in a city where everyone is a potential enemy and every object could be a deadly bomb. Jeremy Renner plays the leader of the EOD team, as he contends with not only defusing bombs in the backdrop of a war, but also the psychological and emotional strain that inflicts. -Adapted from Yahoo

I thought it was not too bad. It was intense and felt more real than reel. The way it was film was rather documentary-like though. I can't decide if it's good or bad. I am pretty sure I was rather nauseous towards the end of the movie though.

Action packed and fast paced. I am not so sure whether I like how the movie uses flashbacks as a way to introduce the background of every character. It may seem clever but yet found it a bit messy. Anyhow it's a entertaining, though I thought it lacked a little depth. You cannot go too wrong watching it I suppose.

If you are expecting a lot of gritty details of the cases he had fought, you be left bitterly disappointed. In it, he talks about his growing up days at the Naval Base hostels and his education in RI and University. He does not divulge too much details into the cases however he focus mainly on the relationships he had with the different people in his life, be it his clients or his colleagues. It's a clean and concise write up but at the end of it all, it makes you feel like wanting a bit more.

Someone mentioned that it was flat and too documentary-ish. And I got to agree. Even better half thought it was too boring for her. If not for the few shooting scenes, it would almost be better off shown on History Channel. However, the dazzling Depp showed his convincing acting skills once again. I am not too sure how closely is he trying to portray John Dillinger, but he sure brings his own style and character into it. For me, I thought the acting was brilliant. It was how the direction went that sort of limited the exciting potential of this script and lineup of actors and actresses. Nevertheless, it's watchable, I have seen much worse movies.

The review below probably describes my thoughts exactly. I really like the show. Given the unexpected appearance of 张静初, I think there is nothing more to ask for. Star-studded cast, strong acting and powerhouse director and producer. I like the way it's been delivered. Although there are several things that wasn't well explained but I like how tight it was. Watch it.

I must say I quite like it. The plot is clever and well thought though predictable at times. The way it's written is creative and quite engaging. Coming from a Italian author, maybe that's why it feels different.

Adapted from AMAZON

Just finished this rather simple to digest book. Somehow it just lacks the ability to engage. The feeling of suspense and time is also missing. So all in all, it was rather disappointing. Read more about it here.

Utter crap. Avoid it at all costs especially for Dragonball fans. The re-adaption of the comic to the movie screen play is a case of total loss in translation. It turns out to be rubbish. There's really nothing exciting about this Dragon's ball except for Jamie Chung's.

Something like Love Actually the US version. A movie that runs 4 love stories in parallel. What's great about this movie is that the script is very real. You can relate to the issues of love that were brought up. It's got a good humour too.

Very interesting movie. Great choice of colours and scenes. Wonderful capture. Brilliant story and very good acting too. Cute, funny and yet dramatic at times. You name it, this show has it. I guess that's why it has emerged from nowhere to become one of the dark horses, and now to a hot favourite at the oscars.

Inspired by the author's life story, this book brings you the insight into the life of a Gora living in Mumbai. His "adventures" are vividly described and it's really intriguing. It took me 7 months to finish. Don't be mistaken though, it's clearly my fault for not taking the time off to read. It's a great book. Apparently, they will be making a movie based on this book and the best part is the lead will be played by non other than my favourite actor, Johnny Depp. How cool.

Never thought I be catching this movie. Worse, never thought I would actually enjoy it. Although it's a rather long movie, I managed to keep myself awake throughout. Not bad eh. I thought the story was well developed as a movie. I am not sure if it's a great end to the series but I thought as a movie, it ran decently and kept me attached. There is a great chemistry among the actress which made the emotions real. All in all, a good movie for everyone. I believe we can all take a lesson of love from this movie.

There lies the problem that when everyone gives a movie very good reviews, normally it fails to live up to expectations. I went into the cinema expecting myself to end up in stitches but it turned out that I even fell asleep at a certain point. I mean it was funny but not exactly very funny. The animation wasn't particularly exciting also. However, I think it will still do great as a family entertainment.

There's lots of hype over this episode of Indiana Jones because it is the final episode and it is finally here at last after so many years. However, I can't really relate to the hype since I don't even remember any of the previous episodes. Anyhow this is a pretty long movie, almost 2.5 hours but it did kept me quite well entertained. At least, I did not fall asleep. The only downside is that the story felt pretty similar to the National Treasure part 2. So somehow the experience felt somewhat familiar, which kind of spoilt the freshness. Oh well, I would like to give it a 3.5 stars, with not much of a choice, let me be that tad bit generous.

Initially, I can't understand how can anyone miss Ironman and then go on to tell me that Speed Racer is good. I mean it looks damn "cartoonish" and messy. Cheesy use of colours, extravagant use of digital effects and a Korean pop singer. A complete package to failure.

Ok, I am wrong. Larry and Andy Wachowski are indeed brilliant. The settings were lovely, something like the good ole 60s retro cartoon. The humor was brilliantly cheesy. Action was quite exciting too although a bit too fast and colourful for my eyes. Lots of creative in the whole show, very daring indeed. The good use of the family ties and love also brings the audience closer through empathy. I don't think too many people may dig it but it sure did for me.

It's a little late to be reviewing this since the movie has been out for more than 2 weeks now and it's been more than a week since I caught it. However, try to catch or you will probably miss the movie of the year. It is that good. I believe it has such a good mix of adventure and humor, there is almost something for everyone. Without a doubt, my favourite for the year so far. If I heard correctly, there is an extended scene about a sequel after the credits, wonder how true is that.

A very last minute decision to catch this move. It turned out pretty decent though nothing exceptionally worth mentioning. For those who like detective thriller should be pleased but generally nothing stands out. I think it's fitting that we caught it on a monday for a price of $7. The cinema was a horror story in it self as well. Kinda stinky, very put off.

Quite a straightforward ploy this one too. However I must say the settings are absolutely fabulous. The scenes were well thought and look gorgeous. Fight scenes were good especially when Donnie is involved. However, Kelly and Leon's moderate acting did not match up to standards. It could have been a potentially good show if they had been able to bring out more depth in their characters. On the whole day, it is still a pretty decent movie to catch.
